Job overview
We are looking for a enthusiastic and diligent Senior Clinical Fellow to join our close knit team here in the Department of Anaesthetics.
Your role will require you to participate in the department on call rota's working in our theatres supporting Consultants and Specialty Doctors with both elective and emergency cases involving a variety of surgical specialities including Colorectal, Upper GI, Vascular, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT, OMFS, Plastics, Burns and Orthopaedics and you may be offered opportunities to request certain specialities.
We will expect you to work in close co-operation with all departments and other medical, professional and managerial colleagues to ensure that we provide high quality healthcare to the all the Trust's patients.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include providing a supervised (direct and indirect) Anaesthetic service, with responsibility for continuity of care for patients on the burns ITU or general ITU and to be guided by consultant Anaesthetists in providing evidence based standards of care for all patients.
You will be responsible for pre-assessing all patients prior to anaesthesia and reviewing patients post-operatively in recovery or on the wards when required, assessing and examining ITU admissions and attending ITU ward rounds and ensuring that patients are issued with a discharge note from the ITU
You will join our team and become a member of the Resuscitation Team, ordering tests and obtaining results of these, maintaining and promoting team and multi-disciplinary work with other specialities, working closely and regularly with the Anaesthetics services on all our sites, supporting the governance process at clinical, managerial and medical levels and to take part in regional audit in support of evidence-based medicine and giving advice, support and training to all junior medical staff in medical wards.
