The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to join the Coding Team in Harlow. You will extract and translate clinical information from patient records and apply ICD-10/OPCS coding with accuracy to support governance and financial reporting.

Remote/home-working is available, with ongoing professional development and adherence to national standards. You will routinely code high volumes while mentoring junior coders and collaborating with clinicians.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical coding and handling finished consultant episodes.
• Ability to mentor coders for accuracy and consistency.
• Strong communication with clinicians and information/finance teams.

Responsabilités

• Identify uncoded activity by reviewing daily discharge reports and uncoded reports.
• Analyse and translate complex clinical information to assign accurate codes.
• Enter coded data into Solventum Medicode 360 ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Code a minimum of 40 episodes per day on average.
• Negotiate coding queries with clinicians and escalate as needed.
