Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a General Foreman to lead the onsite programme, coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors, and ensure delivery, workmanship and safety in line with contract requirements.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager and working with the Quantity Surveyor, you will establish stage programmes, supervise site teams, manage risk assessments, and maintain site security while upholding HSE standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, clients and third parties.
• Ten years of construction management experience with a national/regional contractor.
• Strong analytical skills and proactive planning capability.

Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor key stage programmes.
• Set up the site and maintain site security; coordinate trades activities.
• Take possession of the site, plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Apply for temporary service connections and ensure approvals are in place.
• Interpret drawings and communicate directions to site personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure method statements and risk assessments are completed for high-risk activities.
• Attend site meetings and circulate notes and actions.
