Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary teams on water sector projects across the UK. You will own project delivery, shaping outcomes, budgets and schedules while mentoring graduates and driving innovation within our design services for wastewater and water networks.

The role offers hybrid working with significant client interaction and opportunities to progress toward Chartered status within a supportive, global practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Chartered status or active progression towards ICE/CIWEM is expected.
• Experience leading engineering design teams of civil engineers and support disciplines.
• Experience delivering projects within defined budget and schedule.
• Experience in checking/technical approval on civil/infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all aspects of project delivery including health and safety, technical quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Shape service delivery and identify opportunities to offer additional services within WSP UK/overseas.
• Build strong relationships with clients to ensure project outcomes and satisfaction.
• Contribute to the identification and delivery of innovative approaches and digital products.
• Support bid preparation, resource planning and budgeting.
• Line manage graduates and degree apprentices, supporting their development.
• Assist in recruiting and growing the civil engineering team.
• Continue developing technical, managerial and leadership skills.
