Job summary

WSP is seeking Senior/Principal Civil Engineers to lead delivery of water sector projects in the UK, ensuring health & safety, quality and budget adherence.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, mentor graduates, and build strong client relationships to secure outcomes and satisfaction. The role offers hybrid working, training, and pathways to Chartership within a global engineering leader.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Chartered status or progressing toward ICE/CIWEM is preferred.
• Experience leading civil engineering design teams.
• Proven ability to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
• Experience in technical checking or approval of civil/industrial designs.
• Mentoring or coaching junior staff for growth.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for all aspects of project delivery including health & safety, technical, quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver design output.
• Shape service delivery and identify opportunities for additional WSP services in the UK and overseas.
• Build and maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction and outcomes.
• Contribute to innovative approaches, new services and digital products.
• Support Future Ready and Net Zero initiatives within the team and projects.
• Act as ambassador for best practices within the Asset Design team and client initiatives.
• Lead bid preparation, resource planning and budget development.
• Line manage and develop graduates and degree apprentices.
• Contribute to recruitment and growth of the civil engineering team.
• Continue personal development in technical, managerial and leadership skills.
