Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our on-site team delivering major water projects in the South West. You will provide design support, ensure compliance with standards, and work closely with the commercial, operational and construction teams.

You will engage with clients, check technical documentation, mentor junior engineers, and help drive delivery improvements through standard designs and digital tools. Travel to sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering and chartered status (CEng) with a recognized institution.
• Water or wastewater treatment experience.
• Proven track record delivering high quality outputs to design, quality and safety standards.
• Willingness to travel to sites within the operational region.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support and ensure schemes meet current legislation and standards.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop practical, safe solutions.
• Engage with the client and manage relationships with a one-team approach.
• Manage interfaces between civil design and other disciplines; produce documentation.
• Act as technical checker and undertake reviews across projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery through standard designs and digital tools.
• Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.
• Mentor and develop civil engineering staff and assign resources.
