Job summary

Mott MacDonald in the UK is seeking Principal Civil Engineers (design engineers) to lead the design of major water supply infrastructure and to deliver innovative wastewater solutions.

You will work within the Water Utilities Division, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining technical excellence, and building strong client relationships to secure further work.

The role offers hybrid working and the chance to contribute to sustainable water management across the UK and beyond.

Qualifications

• Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution.
• Proven ability to deliver complex technical projects and lead design teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Good understanding of CDM responsibilities.
• Experience in preparing bids and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the delivery of project(s), coordinating project team(s) to ensure excellent technical delivery within budget and programme.
• Produce and review engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports, proactively managing design risk to deliver constructable solutions.
• Represent the company in meetings, building strong relationships with our clients that will enhance our reputation and help secure further work.
• Deliver projects in close partnership with clients and contractors; contribute to technical excellence and commercial success through forecasting and risk management, and the production of bids and proposals.
• Work to Mott MacDonald’s global standards and review Health, Safety and Welfare alongside environmental impact.
