Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal/Associate Civil Engineer to lead design for water and wastewater projects in Southern England. Based across multiple UK offices, you will steer outline to detailed design, ensuring buildable, compliant solutions and strong client engagement.

You will mentor teams, manage interfaces with multidisciplinary groups, and shape designs for efficiency, reliability and sustainability within UK water sector frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Chartered status or demonstrable equivalent experience for Associate level.
• Significant water/wastewater design experience or related infrastructure design knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead outline and detailed design for water and wastewater projects.
• Coordinate design deliverables across multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical leadership across drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and engage with clients and stakeholders.
