Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting for Principal civil engineers (design engineers) within the Water Division. You will lead design of major water supply infrastructure, contribute to innovative sewer solutions, and deliver wastewater treatment plants to improve water quality.

We work with UK water utilities and government bodies, spanning feasibility through detailed design, construction support, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Chartered status and professional registration are essential.
• Experience delivering complex technical projects and leading design teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multiple technical disciplines.
• Good understanding of CDM responsibilities for designers.
• Willingness to travel to other offices/sites may be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of projects and coordinate teams to meet budget and schedule.
• Produce and review engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Represent the company in meetings and build client relationships.
• Bid development, proposals, and risk management to win work.
• Ensure compliance with standards and health, safety and environmental requirements.
