Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support the continued growth of the Renewables & Transmission & Distribution energy teams in the UK. The role covers projects across onshore wind, hydro, grid infrastructure and BESS, with opportunities across multiple offices and a flexible hybrid model.

You will oversee feasibility through to detailed design and construction supervision, liaising with major energy providers and private developers. Strong technical and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• requires BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering
• Chartered status or working towards chartership with IStructE or equivalent
• demonstrated technical competency in civil/structural design
• strong report writing and organizational skills
• familiarity with National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS) or CDAE status is a plus

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients and manage project work to schedule and budget
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams
• Lead the design of civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, external works
• Prepare/review calculations and detailed design drawings per UK standards
• Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries
• Produce high-quality feasibility, inspection and design reports
• Mentor and guide junior staff
