Job summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer for our Glasgow office to lead civil design across power, grid and renewable energy projects. You will coordinate drainage design, develop models and drawings, and ensure delivery within safety and standards.

Qualifications

• Formal degree in civil engineering or closely related discipline.
• Significant experience in civil engineering design, preferably in energy/power/infrastructure sectors.
• Proven drainage design experience including surface water management and calculations.
• Strong knowledge of Civil 3D and related design tools.
• Experience designing site infrastructure and earthworks.
• Ability to manage deliverables from initial design to construction support.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong report-writing, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of engineering standards and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for power, grid and renewable projects, including substations and connections.
• Deliver drainage design and SuDS, with drainage calculations.
• Produce civil models/drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Design site infrastructure including earthworks, access roads and platforms.
• Prepare and review calculations, reports, specs and design docs.
• Coordinate civil design with other engineering disciplines.
• Manage design packages, deliverables and deadlines.
• Provide technical leadership and design reviews to junior engineers.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Support projects from feasibility through detailed design and construction.
• Ensure designs meet standards, legislation and health & safety requirements.
