Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Ltd is partnering with a growing Glasgow-based consultancy to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer. You will lead civil design across power, grid and renewable projects, with a focus on drainage and coordinated modelling.

You will manage design deliverables and mentor junior engineers within a multidisciplinary team. You will collaborate closely with project managers, clients and other disciplines to ensure safe, compliant and timely project delivery from feasibility through

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Significant experience in civil engineering design, ideally in energy, power or infrastructure.
• Proven drainage design experience including surface water management and drainage calculations.
• Strong knowledge of Civil 3D.
• Experience designing site infrastructure—earthworks, roads, platforms.
• Ability to manage civil deliverables from initial design to construction support.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams and managing technical interfaces.
• Strong report-writing, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design for power, grid and renewables projects, including drainage.
• Deliver drainage design, surface water management and calculations.
• Create civil models and drawings using Civil 3D.
• Design site infrastructure, earthworks, roads and platforms.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, specs and design docs.
• Coordinate civil with structural, electrical, geotechnical and environmental disciplines.
• Manage design packages, deliverables and deadlines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Support feasibility through detailed design and construction.
• Ensure designs meet standards, regulations and safety requirements.
