Job summary

NUVIA UK, a VINCI subsidiary, seeks an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support major infrastructure programmes in the nuclear, defence and energy sectors. Based in Glasgow with hybrid working and monthly site visits, you will contribute to robust civil design and safety-critical activities.

A Civil/Structural Engineering degree and proven experience in reinforced concrete and steelwork under dynamic loads are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in design assessment of reinforced concrete and steelwork structures to withstand dynamic loads.
• Experience on reinforced concrete and steelwork marine structures and jetties.
• Ability to produce robust technical justification for design modifications in a high hazard industry.
• Apply methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, operate and maintain engineering processes in nuclear/high risk environments.
• Use general and specialist engineering knowledge to apply existing and emerging technology.

Responsibilities

• Technical excellence in specification, production and assessment of design packages for infrastructure.
• Specify reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure.
• Assess work control procedures for maintenance of infrastructure.
• Assess infrastructure design, material state, qualification and ageing mechanisms.
• Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture.
• Ensure outputs of safety-related contracts meet requirements as an intelligent customer.
