Job summary

Vulcain Engineering is recruiting a Civil Engineer to support a major nuclear new build programme. The role covers design, technical specifications, and documentation update for civil infrastructure within a highly regulated setting.

Based in Bristol with hybrid working, you will review deliverables, perform gap analyses and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure design consistency and compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in civil engineering, structures, infrastructure or construction environments.
• Knowledge of design processes, specifications and documentation.
• Familiarity with construction methods and reinforced concrete structures.
• Experience reviewing deliverables and technical reports.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Review civil engineering specifications, design docs and deliverables.
• Perform gap analyses to identify updates and changes.
• Update and develop civil documentation, specs and construction requirements.
• Support replication/adaptation of designs for nuclear projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather technical information.
• Review structures, geotechnical data and construction methods against project needs.
• Participate in workshops, reviews and stakeholder meetings.
• Ensure documentation complies with standards, health and safety and quality requirements.
