Job summary

Vulcain Engineering, a leading international engineering consultancy, is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer for a major infrastructure and nuclear new build programme in the UK. The role is based in Bristol with hybrid working arrangements, focusing on technical oversight, design review and delivery of complex civil structures, containment systems and related assets.

You will contribute to design governance, technical assurance, and multidisciplinary collaboration across engineering teams, with

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Civil Engineering and chartered or working toward chartered status.
• Experience on major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence, industrial, marine, water or large-scale construction projects.
• Background in civil structures, reinforced concrete or infrastructure design.
• Experience reviewing engineering designs, specs and contractor deliverables.
• Knowledge of design assurance, governance, engineering surveillance or quality management processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and engineering support for major civil/infrastructure packages.
• Review contractor and supplier design deliverables for compliance with requirements and standards.
• Develop, review and maintain technical specifications and engineering documentation.
• Manage technical queries during design, procurement, manufacture and construction phases.
• Undertake surveillance activities and support contractor performance monitoring.
• Participate in design reviews, workshops and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Contribute to constructability assessments and design integration activities.
• Capture and share lessons learned for continuous improvement.
