Job summary

Vulcain Engineering UK is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support a major infrastructure and nuclear new build programme in the UK. The role focuses on technical oversight, design reviews and delivery of complex civil structures within a multidisciplinary team.

You will engage with contractor management, ensure compliance with design standards (Eurocodes/BS), lead design governance, and contribute to constructability assessments. A local Bristol area relocation is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• Experience with major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence, industrial or large-scale construction projects.
• Background in civil structures and reinforced concrete design.
• Experience reviewing designs, specifications and contractor deliverables.
• Knowledge of design assurance, governance, surveillance or quality management processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and engineering support for major civil packages.
• Review contractor and supplier design deliverables for compliance with standards.
• Support development and maintenance of technical specifications and documentation.
• Manage technical queries during design, procurement, manufacture and construction phases.
• Undertake design reviews, workshops and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Contribute to constructability assessments and design integration activities.
• Capture lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
