Job summary

Stantec in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead delivery of civil engineering projects within a multidisciplinary team. You will own delivery, coordinate design teams, and work closely with clients to shape practical, compliant outcomes.

The role focuses on drainage, levels and external works design, with QA oversight and ongoing contribution to technical standards and innovation. A hybrid working approach and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE, or working toward chartership.
• Strong experience in civil engineering design for building developments.
• Experience delivering drainage (surface and foul), levels, and highways/external works design.
• Proficient in tools such as AutoCAD, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, and collaborative platforms.
• Experience leading project delivery, including QA and coordination.
• Interested in contributing to technical standards and innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil engineering projects, taking responsibility for technical quality, programme, and client outcomes. Coordinate design teams, attend project meetings, and ensure designs align with project objectives.
• Develop and manage civil design packages, including drainage, levels, and external works, ensuring QA and compliance with standards.
• Manage client relationships and support progression from early design through approvals and construction.
