Job summary

Stantec in Cardiff is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer within our Buildings team to lead civil delivery across projects, mentoring engineers and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE, or working toward chartership.
• Strong experience delivering civil engineering design for building developments.
• Experience within the local market, with an understanding of clients and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of SAB legislation and experience managing projects through the SAB process.
• Experience leading teams and managing project delivery.
• Confident communicator, able to build and maintain client relationships.
• Experience contributing to business development, bids, and financial management.
• Interested in driving innovation, team development, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil engineering projects with oversight on quality, programme, and commercial performance.
• Guide engineers and technicians, ensuring coordinated designs that meet QA and health and safety standards.
• Manage teams and projects including resource planning, workloads, and development.
• Address team challenges and drive continuous improvement within the group.
• Engage with clients and support bids and tender submissions for a sustainable pipeline.
• Oversee financial aspects including change control, fee management and project performance.
• Contribute to wider business initiatives such as innovation and technical standards.
