Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer in Birmingham to lead infrastructure and drainage projects from concept to completion. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients, architects and multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure delivery to high standards across a varied project portfolio.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, Chartered or working towards CEng/IEng, and significant UK consultancy experience in drainage and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Chartered or working towards CEng/IEng.
• Significant UK consultancy experience in infrastructure and drainage design.
• Strong knowledge of highways, drainage and development infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil engineering design and delivery of projects from feasibility through to construction.
• Produce and review drainage, highways and infrastructure designs using industry-standard software.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and design information.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and client relationships.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and external stakeholders.
• Attend client and design team meetings, providing practical engineering advice.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
• Support business development activities and contribute to winning new work.
• Ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical and quality standards.
