Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer in Birmingham to lead infrastructure and drainage projects from concept to completion. You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate with architects and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs.

The role requires Chartered status or working towards, solid UK consultancy experience, and proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered (CEng) or IEng status, or working towards accreditation
• Significant UK consultancy experience in infrastructure and drainage design
• Strong knowledge of highways, drainage and development infrastructure
• Experience using Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage and AutoCAD
• Excellent understanding of UK design standards, SuDS and approval processes
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to lead projects and mentor others

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil engineering design and delivery of projects from feasibility through to construction
• Produce and review drainage, highways and infrastructure designs using industry-standard software
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and design information
• Manage project programmes, budgets and client relationships
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and external stakeholders
• Attend client and design team meetings, providing engineering guidance
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians
• Support business development and contribute to winning new work
• Ensure projects meet high technical and quality standards
