Position: Senior Design Engineer

As the Senior Design Engineer, you will join our client's integrated team and lead the design of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects on their Yorkshire Water Framework, from outline design through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning support. It is essential that the Senior Civil Engineer has prior experience working on Yorkshire Water projects.

Job Overview

1. Manage and coordinate internal and external activities related to civil and drainage design, ensuring compliance with client specifications and design standards.
2. Oversee the Design & Engineering Team, ensuring the successful delivery of design schemes, reviewing work for accuracy, and attending project meetings.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain strong client relationships, and manage project programming, commercial aspects, and audit presentations.
4. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices, promoting professional development and innovation within the team.
5. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, maintaining quality and environmental control procedures.
6. Foster positive relationships with clients, design teams, and stakeholders, upholding company values and best practices on-site.

Requirements

1. Qualified Engineer, ideally chartered or a member of ICE or CEng.
2. Extensive civil design experience, including drainage, within the UK water sector.
3. Strong knowledge of UK Water Industry standards and Sewer Sector Guidance for drainage design.
4. Proficient in MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civils 3D, with BIM integration experience desirable.
5. Strong hydraulic design skills, with the ability to apply manual calculations when needed.
