AECOM's Chesterfield office has an immediate requirement for a Senior Civil Engineer to undertake technical designs and project management and drive forward various civil infrastructure related commercial and residential development projects. The role also involves helping develop the Company’s business.
The Business Unit is highly multi-disciplinary, comprising civil & highway, structural, mechanical, electrical/process engineers, architects, project managers, and surveyors. Our market sectors include industrial development, logistics, airports, infrastructure development/regeneration, and Government Agency/Local Authority projects.

- Report to the Principal / Associate Director, supporting the team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Develop internal team relationships, support staff training, and promote personal development and succession planning.
- Provide technical support to junior team members and maintain a client-focused service to ensure ongoing satisfaction and repeat business.

Requirements:
- Commercial awareness and ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians to deliver projects successfully.
- Experience in highways, drainage, and infrastructure design for multi-disciplinary developments.
- Detailed knowledge of drainage design, piped systems, SuDS, storage design, and familiarity with software like InfoDrainage.
- Experience in preparing Contract Drawings and Specifications, and negotiating agreements like Section 38, 278, 104, and 106.
- Ability to design highways, access roads, and infrastructure, including road geometry, earthworks, pavements, drainage, and underground services.
- Support and coach junior staff for their development.
Preferred Qualification:
- Significant experience in UK infrastructure engineering, from public, private, or consultancy backgrounds.
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent. Chartered Civil Engineer or working towards Chartered status (MICE).
