RPS are currently seeking an experienced Senior / Engineer - Civils to join our progressive business and service our clients. This role will be within the infrastructure team which could include Aviation or Highway based projects.

Join our industry-leading team, we offer a wealth of in-house expertise across a variety of different sectors, with a focus on Aviation and/or the Highways sector.

About The Design Business

RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple, niche sectors which include Aviation, Highways, Civils, Structures, Architecture and more as we strive to achieve the right balance between form and function when faced with competing priorities around sustainability, materiality, cost and constructability. Digitalisation is at the core of our delivery model allowing our clients and their stakeholders to really experience our designs right from project concept stage and through drawing on expertise spanning decades, industries and disciplines, we assist clients to harmonise design drivers through inspired engineering, architecture and development services.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is an exciting role for an individual looking to progress their career as a Civil / Highway Engineer within our industry leading team where we have an excellent reputation, offering a wealth of expertise in all sectors of infrastructure.

Duties Include

• Producing of 3D models using the Civil 3D modelling software, including earthworks, pavement (highway or aviation) alignments
• Convert 3D drawings into detailed designs
• Coordination and production of detailed drawings and specifications output applying expert technical knowledge in line with relevant legislation and industry standards
• Complete design models, calculations and sketches in collaboration with other design disciplines
• Assist in overseeing drawing production and verify work quality from colleagues
• Assist in the review of consultants’ and contractors’ design proposals relevant to the role
• Manage the upload and download of documents within the document management systems
• Adhere to BIM protocols and office document standards
• Provide essential support on projects
• Assist in preparing fee proposals
• Attend and actively contribute to project and client meetings
• Attend site inspections and produce surveys when required
  
  

Who We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role you will preferably be experienced within the Aviation or Highways sector with a HND or equivalent qualification.

Additionally, You Will

• Be proficient in creating Civil 3D models and extracting sections and quantities from the model
• Preferably have knowledge of industry design guides in aviation and or highways
• Demonstrate technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
• Be experienced in the use of engineering software
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and of time and budget implications
