Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Children's Support Worker to join a residential children's home in Coventry. You will lead shifts, supervise day-to-day running, and build trusting relationships with young people while safeguarding their welfare.

The role focuses on helping children achieve personal, educational, and social goals, completing care plans and records, and collaborating with families, social workers, and schools.

Senior Children's Support Worker

Location: Coventry
Hours: 2 Days On / 4 Days Off Rota | Including 6 Sleep-ins per Month
Salary: £35,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join a residential children's home in Coventry. What will you be doing?

• Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.


• Leading shifts and supporting the effective day-to-day running of the home.


• Building positive relationships with young people and acting as a trusted role model.


• Supporting children to achieve their personal, educational, and social goals.


• Completing care plans, daily records, and incident reports accurately.


• Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of children is always the highest priority.


• Working closely with families, social workers, schools, and other professionals.


• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team.

Experience/Qualifications Required

• Previous experience working within a children's residential care setting.


• Experience as a Senior Support Worker or a strong Support Worker ready to step up.


• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable.


• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.


• Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.


• Ability to work flexible shifts, including sleep-ins.


• Full UK Driving Licence is preferred.


• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
