Job summary

Esland Group in Whaley Bridge is hiring a Senior Residential Support Worker for their 4-bed EBD children’s home. The role focuses on building trusting relationships, supporting care plans and promoting a structured home environment.

You will lead by example, supervise junior staff on rotation and ensure records are maintained with care and professionalism. A Level 3 Diploma and a UK driving licence are essential, with shift patterns including sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in residential childcare.
• Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence is essential for transporting young people and attending external meetings.

Location: Whaley Bridge

Salary: Up to £38,028.00 (depending on qualification held)*

Hours: full time (2 days and 2 sleep nights in a row, following by 4 day break)

We’re looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Whaley Bridge.

About The Role

The Old School House is a 4 bedded EBD home, providing our young people a safe, caring and structured home environment.

Your Role Will Include

• Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals


• Supporting care plans and helping young people achieve their goals


• Leading by example and supporting junior colleagues on shift


• Promoting a safe, clean, and happy home environment


• Encouraging learning, development, and independence in every child


• Keeping records up to date with care and professionalism

What We Are Looking For

• A minimum of 12 months experience in residential childcare


• A Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare (or an accepted equivalent)


• A full UK driving licence – essential for transporting young people and attending external meetings


• A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach to care


• Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins (rota given in advance but likely to be 2-on, 4-off)


• Candidates must have to work in the UK
