Job summary

Care & Support Services is seeking a Senior Residential Support Practitioner to join our children's homes across the West Midlands. You will work with the Home Manager to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care and help lead the running of the home.

We offer permanent roles with flexible full-time or part-time hours, ongoing training, safeguarding focus, and opportunities to progress to Team Leader or Manager roles. Sleep-ins and performance bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a relevant equivalent qualification.
• Experience in children's residential care, preferably with EBD/SEMH/trauma or complex needs.
• Experience taking responsibility on shift and leading others.
• Strong safeguarding awareness and good communication.
• A compassionate, resilient and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible rota, including weekends and sleep-ins.
• Existing UK right to work for the hours and duties offered, without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Providing nurturing, trauma-informed support to children and young people.
• Building trusting relationships and supporting emotional wellbeing.
• Leading shifts, coordinating colleagues and maintaining safe staffing.
• Supporting, mentoring and guiding less experienced practitioners.
• Promoting safeguarding, positive behaviour support and professional boundaries.
• Maintaining accurate care plans, risk assessments, daily records and incident reports.
• Supporting quality assurance, Ofsted compliance and Regulation 44 processes.
• Working collaboratively with social workers, families, education providers and healthcare professionals.
• Supporting young people with activities, education, independence skills and positive childhood experiences.
