Job summary

The Athenaeum in Mayfair, London, is seeking a skilled kitchen team member to own a designated section and work closely with the Sous and Head Chef. You will prepare and present dishes to the highest standards, support daily kitchen operations, and help maintain rigorous hygiene and stock control.

This role offers opportunities to contribute to seasonal menus within a luxury, independent hotel setting, with a focus on exceptional guest experiences and continuous professional development.

• Experience in a high-volume kitchen preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a designated kitchen section, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.
• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and deliver dishes with consistency in quality, taste and presentation.
• Ensure your section is prepared for service and runs efficiently during shifts.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering needs to senior chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and food hygiene standards within your section.
• Contribute ideas and creativity to menu development and seasonal offerings.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures.

The Role

• Take ownership of a designated kitchen section, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.


• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen.


• Prepare and deliver dishes consistently, maintaining quality, taste and presentation standards at all times.


• Ensure your section is fully prepared for service and operates efficiently throughout each shift.


• Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements to senior chefs.


• Maintain cleanliness, organization and food safety standards within your section.


• Contribute ideas and creativity to menu development and seasonal offerings.


• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures at all times.
