Job summary

Gateley is seeking a Technical Director in Greater London to lead and develop the technical team within Gateley Built Environment. You will drive efficiency, oversee budgeting and compliance, and align technical guidance with business goals.

The role requires Chartered Building Surveyor experience, strong leadership, and the ability to deliver on KPIs while supporting HR and training initiatives across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience and detailed working knowledge of departmental practices and procedures.
• Experience in managing a team to meet KPI and productivity levels.
• Experience in delegating tasks and project management.
• Ability to lead a team to achieve company objectives.
• Awareness of the latest statutory requirements, technical publications and Codes of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead, monitor and manage your team ensuring efficient work to meet organisational goals.
• Contribute to the company’s marketing objectives, targets and initiatives.
• Maximise the use of resources to ensure quality, service standards and productivity.
• Report monthly on workflow to Directors on team performance.
• Identify and handle projects requiring the Line Manager level of experience.
• Maintain awareness of latest technical publications and statutory legislation.
• Liaise with HR on recruitment, appraisals and HR matters.
• Facilitate and support formal training of your team to maximise achievement.
• Carry out responsibilities in line with your technical role (e.g., Chartered Building Surveyor).
• Comply with administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
