An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse to lead the nursing team in the Orthopaedic Trauma Ward at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic leader. The Orthopaedic Trauma Ward SCN plays a key role in supporting the nursing team to deliver excellent care to Orthopaedic trauma patients. The post involves managing a 28-bed ward receiving patients from the emergency department, tertiary referrals, and transfers from HDU care.
The postholder will be the line manager for the nursing/midwifery team, overseeing registered and unregistered staff, ensuring standards of practice are maintained, reviewed, and developed, and that care is safe, effective, patient-centered, efficient, timely, and equitable.
You will also contribute to ward budget management, ensuring effective use of resources, supplies, and equipment, and support clinical supervision for nursing staff.
Applicants must be registered nurses with the NMC, with evidence of continuing professional development. Experience in Orthopaedics or demonstrated expert clinical and professional practice is essential. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday.
