Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant to support the Care team in delivering high standards of personal care within our award-winning homes. You will monitor resident wellbeing, assist with medication, contribute to person-centred care plans, supervise staff, and be a key contact for residents, relatives and health professionals.

Qualifications

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Have a positive attitude to both supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support and work with the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care.
• Monitor wellbeing of residents and ensure care plans are updated as needed.
• Assist residents with medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervision and support development where required.
• Act as a key point of contact for residents, relatives and health professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
