Main duties of the job

The Senior Care Assistant role at Avery Healthcare involves supporting and working alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include monitoring the wellbeing of residents, being involved in person‑centred care planning, supporting residents with their medication requirements, undertaking staff supervisions, acting as a key point of contact for residents and their families, and ensuring any concerns are escalated.

Qualifications
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar care environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Positive attitude, responsiveness, and flexibility

Job responsibilities
  • Monitor the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met and written records are amended to reflect any changes
  • Be involved in the person‑centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations
  • Support residents with their medication requirements
  • Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development where required
  • Act as a key point of contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated
