Job summary

Avery Healthcare in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to support the care team in delivering high standards of personal care within a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

You will be expected to monitor wellbeing, participate in person-centred care planning, assist with residents' medication, and provide staff supervision and development support. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, aware of changes impacting care and updating care plans accordingly.
• Participating in person-centred care planning, implementing, monitoring, and monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff development.
• Acting as a key contact with residents, relatives and visitors, and coordinating with health and social care professionals, escalating concerns or complaints as needed.

About The Role

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.

• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
