Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home in Buckinghamshire. You will join a close-knit team to deliver compassionate personal care and support residents’ wellbeing.

The role focuses on person-centred care planning, monitoring residents, and assisting with medications, while supporting staff development and acting as a key point of contact for residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work with the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care.
  • Provide a safe, caring, open and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Monitor wellbeing of residents and update care plans as needed.
  • Assist with medication requirements for residents.
  • Undertake staff supervision and support staff development.
  • Act as main contact for residents, relatives and health and social care professionals, addressing requests and escalating concerns.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:
  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidatemust:
  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
