Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Cannock is seeking a warm, dedicated Senior Care Assistant for Abbey Court Care Home. You will work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, supportive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.

• Positive attitude toward supporting residents and staff.
• Flexible and responsive to a range of duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents' wellbeing and update care plans as needs change.
• Participate in person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
• Support residents with medication requirements.
• Supervise staff and support their development when needed.
• Act as a main contact for residents, relatives, and professionals, handle requests and escalations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswill include:

• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.

• Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
