Job summary

Alexander House Care Home in Exeter is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support a care team in delivering safe, person-centred care for residents. You will oversee shifts, manage medication administration, and ensure accurate records, communicating with families and health professionals for continuity of care.

The role requires NVQ 2 (Level 3 desirable) in Health & Social Care, strong leadership, and compassionate, professional approach; weekend work is required on an alternating

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required (Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards).
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the care team to deliver safe, high quality, person-centred care for residents.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift; ensure care is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
