Job summary

Bupa UK is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Clare House Care Home in Uxbridge. The role involves leading a team of Care Assistants to deliver high-quality personal care, overseeing clinical duties when required and managing the unit to ensure smooth nightly operations.

Night shifts (33 hours) with alternate weekends, permanent contract; the successful candidate will inspire colleagues, support the nurse, and contribute to care planning and documentation in a close-knit team.

Qualifications

  • NVQ3 in care or working towards the qualification (we support completion).
  • Motivated, positive with strong interpersonal skills and team orientation.
  • Experience in the role and passion for making a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Run day-to-day operations of a care unit.
  • Support nurse with observations, medication, and care plan reviews.

Permanent contract

33 hours - night shifts, alternate weekends required

About the role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will drive a team of Care Assistants delivering high quality personal care to residents, inspire and develop them, lead clinical duties as needed, and manage the unit overall.

Key responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
  • Supporting clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
  • Managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsibility for all shift handovers of the teams
  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members
  • Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Key skills & qualifications
  • Completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care (we support completion if needed)
  • Motivated, positive, with great interpersonal skills and enjoys working in a close‑knit team
  • Previous experience in the role, passion for making a real difference to people’s lives
