Job summary

Lime Trees Care Home in Shrewsbury is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a team in delivering safe, person-centered care to residents, including those with dementia. You will oversee shifts, ensure care is well organized and high standard, manage medication administration and monitor wellbeing, while maintaining accurate care records and communicating with families and healthcare professionals.

The role offers a 38.5-hour week, a 3x on/3x off rota, enhanced DBS, uniform, and progression

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required.
• Level 3 qualification desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.

Lime Trees Care Home is a 66 bed care home located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Providing residential and dementia care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment where a dedicated team supports Residents to live well and maintain their independence. Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 38.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
• Working a 3x on & 3x off rota over a seven day week

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
