Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is helping a leading Hampshire nursing home in Milford on Sea find a Senior Support Worker. The role is a permanent full-time position (36 hours per week) with a generous benefits package and an hourly rate of £14.35, equating to about £26,863.20 per year.

Your responsibilities include assessing residents, writing care plans, supervising staff, and administrating medications in line with policies. NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Recognise and facilitate the daily needs of residents.
• Conduct formal supervisions and appraisals.
• Contribute to care planning and coaching of support workers.
• Promote services when dealing with relatives and enquiries.
• Update and write care plans and resident documentation.
• Report and assess each resident to ensure continuity of care.
• Administer medication to residents according to policy.

As the Senior Support Worker your key duties include:

• Recognise and facilitate the daily needs of residents
• Conduct formal supervisions and appraisals
• Contributing to care planning and coaching support workers
• Take an active professional role in promoting the services offered when dealing with relatives, prospective residents and enquiries
• Participate in updating and writing care plans and resident documentation
• Be responsible for making and reporting realistic assessments of each resident to ensure continuity of care
• Be responsible for administrating medication to the residents in accordance with policies and procedures

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Proven experience of working in a care setting
• A good team player
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Have a genuine desire to care for others
