Avon Search is recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader at a luxury retirement home in Paignton, Devon. The role includes day shifts, leadership responsibilities and delivering high-quality, person-centred care to up to 44 residents aged 65 and over. The home has an Outstanding CQC rating and is within walking distance of local beaches.

Salary is £14.22–£15.22 per hour with paid breaks. The position is full-time permanent with progression opportunities and a supportive management

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a residential or nursing care environment.
• Experience as Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or similar desirable.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care desirable.
• Medication administration experience desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Caring, compassionate and person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and motivate care staff during day shifts.

This highly regarded home provides outstanding residential and respite care for up to 44 residents aged 65 and over, offering a welcoming and supportive environment where people can enjoy later life with dignity and independence.

The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional care while providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the care team.

You will work closely with residents, families and colleagues to ensure the highest standards of person-centred care are consistently maintained. As a senior member of the team, you will lead by example, support colleagues and help create a safe, positive and welcoming environment where residents can live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, supporting and motivating care staff during day shifts

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader within a residential or nursing care setting.

You will be a compassionate and reliable care professional with excellent communication skills and the confidence to support and lead a team.
