Avon Search is recruiting an experienced Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader for a well-established nursing home near East Grinstead, West Sussex. The role leads the care team and ensures high standards of person-centred care in collaboration with residents, families and staff.

Located in East Grinstead, the home supports 32 residents across two households and is backed by a charitable foundation that values staff development and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader in nursing or elderly care.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care desirable.
  • Experience supporting older people with complex nursing needs.
  • Medication administration experience desirable.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Caring, compassionate and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the care team during day shifts.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Assist residents with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Support medication administration where appropriate.

The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of exceptional care while providing day-to-day leadership to the care team.

Working closely with residents, families, nurses and colleagues, you will help ensure the highest standards of care are maintained while creating a safe, welcoming and positive environment for everyone within the home.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting the care team throughout day shifts
  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred care
  • Assisting residents with personal care and daily living activities
  • Supporting medication administration where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate care plans and documentation
  • Promoting residents' independence, dignity and wellbeing
  • Ensuring a safe, caring and welcoming environment
  • Acting as a positive role model and mentor for the wider care team
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or similar role within a nursing, residential or elderly care setting
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
  • Experience supporting older people with complex nursing needs
  • Medication administration experience (desirable)Excellent communication and leadership skills
