Job summary

La Fontana Care Home in Martock is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support a care team in delivering safe, person-centred dementia and nursing care to residents.

The role involves overseeing shifts, coordinating care, managing medications, maintaining records, and liaising with families and healthcare professionals; weekend alternation required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is the minimum requirement.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Willingness to work alternate weekends.

• Oversee the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised and high quality.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.

Job description

La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home is nestled on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by the stunning Somerset countryside. This innovative, purpose-built home provides specialist Dementia and Nursing care for up to 76 residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 36 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
