Job summary

Birdston Care Home in Kirkintilloch, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead and support a team in delivering safe, person-centred care for frail-elderly residents, including specialist dementia and respite care.

You will oversee shifts, ensure high standards, manage medications, maintain records, and communicate with families and healthcare professionals, while benefiting from a supportive, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is the minimum requirement.
• Level 3 is desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience leading or supporting a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; caring and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.35 per hour
• Contracted to 39- 42 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
