Job summary

Buchanan House Care Home in Bearsden, part of Belsize Healthcare, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide a team in delivering safe, person-centred care to residents.

You will oversee shifts, support medication administration, and maintain accurate records while working closely with families and healthcare professionals.

This role offers an hourly rate of £14.50, a full-time contract, and benefits including PVG, pension and uniform.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required, Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Situated in Bearsden, our purpose-built care home offers Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite care to 53-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to full time hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents' wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
