Job summary

Etive House Care Home in the Oban area is seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to lead a team in delivering safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents.

You will manage shifts, oversee medication and wellbeing, maintain care records and liaise with families and healthcare professionals. SVQ Level 2 is required; Level 3 desirable, or willingness to complete medication administration training with competency.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required.
• Level 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable or willingness to work towards Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care for residents.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift and ensure care is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to changes as needed.

Located in the beautiful village of Benderloch by Oban, we offer small group living accommodation for up to 62-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract Up to £15.10 per hour Contracted to up to 44 hours per week £500 Welcome Bonus (paid upon passing 6-month probation) Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract) Role Overview As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard.

Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
