Job summary

Silverleigh Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant in Axminster to guide a care team and ensure high-quality, person-centred care. You will oversee shift delivery, supervise medication administration, and maintain vital care records for residents.

The role requires NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum) with Level 3 desirable, and the ability to work alternating weekends in a supportive, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience leading or supporting a care team is beneficial.

Silverleigh is a beautiful care home, situated at the heart of a thriving community in a quiet street in the centre of Axminster, Devon. Silverleigh is registered for 65 residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.50 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
