Job summary

Care Concern Group's Valarian Court Care Home in Didcot seeks a Senior Care Assistant to guide a care team and deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred care to residents. You will manage shifts, ensure high standards, and support with medication administration while maintaining accurate records.

This role requires NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable) and the ability to lead and communicate with families and health professionals.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Medication administration training with competency.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3.

Responsibilities

Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, our newly-built care home offers exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 70-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Full & Part time hours available
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be requird to work alternate weekends.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
