Job summary

Carebase in Histon, Cambridge is seeking a Senior Care Assistant. You will lead shifts, supervise staff, and assist with care plans while delivering personal care to residents, including bathing.

You’ll manage daily records, monitor wellbeing, and uphold high safety standards within a supportive team. This permanent full-time role offers a 48-hour week, weekday plus alternate weekend shifts, paid holiday, pension, staff recognition, cycle-to-work, and development opportunities in a friendly

• Ability to supervise and manage care staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the shift by leading and motivating the team, managing daily records, assisting with care plans.
• Provide personal care to residents, supporting bathing and daily activities.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and understand their likes, dislikes, and needs.
• Ensure all records and care plans are accurately completed and updated.

About The Role

As our Senior Care Assistant, you’ll manage and oversee the shift by leading and motivating the team, managing daily records, assisting with care plans. You'll provide personal care to our residents, supporting them with bathing. Your warm, supportive, and caring nature will help you build meaningful relationships with our residents and you will get to know everything about their likes and dislikes as well as their needs.

Here’s some other important things you need to know:

• You must have the ability to effectively supervise and manage care staff
• You’ll follow electronic care plans for each resident and administer medication as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both.
• You must be alert at all times to our residents’ physical and mental well being
• You will help maintain our high standards ensuring our residents’ home is always clean and safe
