Job summary

Alderwood Care Home in Colchester is seeking a Senior Carer (Nights) to provide personal care to residents, including bathing, meals, and mobility. You will act as a key worker, building strong relationships with residents and families, and contribute to electronic care plans while supporting a friendly, supportive team.

The role requires undertaking night duties with weekend rotation as needed, and you'll participate in formal supervision of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Provide personal care to residents including bathing, eating, bathroom assistance and mobility.
• Act as a key worker for residents and build meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
• Participate in the formulation and maintenance of Individual electronic care plans.
• Must have experience in supervising junior staff and conducting formal supervisions.
• Understand and comply with Health & Safety, COSHH and care standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one care to residents during nights, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Support residents with daily activities and mobility within the home.
• Maintain accurate care records and contribute to care planning.

About the role

As ourSenior Carer (Nights), you’ll provide personal care to our residents, supporting them with bathing, eating, visiting the bathroom, and also getting around and enjoying our lovely home. You will act as a key worker for a number residents’ and so building meaningful relationships with our residents’ and their families is crucial. You will participate in the formulation and maintenance of

Individual electronic care plans and will have experience of this.

Here’s some other important things you need to know:

• You will undertake formal supervisions of junior staff and must have experience of this
• You must be alert at all times to our residents’ physical and mental well being
• You’ll need to understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health and Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the care Standards Act.
