Job summary

Ridgeway Lodge Care Home in Dunstable is seeking a capable Senior Care Assistant to guide and support a team in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care for residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of shifts, oversee medication administration, monitor wellbeing, and maintain accurate care records while communicating with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

About Ridgeway Lodge Care Home

Ridgeway Lodge Care Home is a welcoming care home located in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. With comfortable lounges, en suite bedrooms, an on site pub, hair salon, regular activities and trips out, colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.85 to £14.45 per hour


• Contracted to 33 hours per week


• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided


• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
