Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is hiring a Senior Care Assistant for St Giles Care Home in Birmingham. You will support the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring environment and help maintain residents’ wellbeing.

The role requires NVQ 3 or equivalent and about 2 years’ experience in a similar care setting, with strong communication skills and a flexible approach. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the wellbeing of each resident and update care plans accordingly.
  • Contribute to person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
  • Assist residents with medication requirements as needed.
  • Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development.
  • Act as a key contact for residents, relatives, visitors and health and social care professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
